Description
A free legal service program which helps remove barriers to positive health outcomes by addressing social determinants of health and structural inequities facing patients and their care providers.
Provides legal assistance in the following areas:
- Housing (Eviction, Section 8, Habitability)
- Family (Custody, Support, Orders of Protection, Divorce)
- Public Benefits (SNAP, DSS, Temporary Assistance)
- Disability (SSI, SSDI, Return to Work)
- Estate Planning (Wills, POA, Healthcare Proxy)
- Name Changes
- Veteran Issues (Discharge Upgrades, Service-Connected Disabilities)
- Referrals

Eligibility
Clients must be patients of one of NLS's local healthcare partners: Evergreen Health, Catholic Health/Catholic Charities, Roswell, or the US Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). Financial eligibility will be determined at intake.
