Description
Develops and administers programs for Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity; promotes Equal Opportunity; and ensures that there is no discrimination in Labor Department policies and practices, both internal and external. Takes affirmative action steps to ensure that all programs are open to all New Yorkers, regardless of race, creed, color, gender, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Monitors both State and Federal programs.

Oversees the following program areas:
- Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Complaints
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Universal Access
- Review Unemployment Insurance (UI) Discrimination Complaints
- Federal Workforce Investment Act monitoring and audits of Career Centers
